    Very ordinary meal at Nick's. Chips are the lowest quality stock standard soft soggy kind. The "grilled" Morton Bay bugs came cold and showed no sign of ever being near a grill. I found a significant amount of dirt on a piece of my salad, as if the limp wilted greens haphazardly thrown on the plate weren't unappealing enough. I would have been happy to tell the staff all of this, but nobody bothered to check on us after the food hit the table.

    If you're near this place and looking to eat, there's plenty nearby, I recommend literally anywhere else.

    Terrible: food, service, and on top of this incompetent staff and very expensive. Context of my opinion: 10 years as an executive chef. This establishment has taken the top spot for the worst meal my wife and I have had in Sydney (possibly my life). I had a steak (MR) with peppercorn sauce. The steak was low quality meat (tough, tiny, probably Brazilian meat) chips were stale and cold the peppercorn sauce was packet mix and completely flavorless. My wife had a whole baby snapper, in which the fish, wasn't fresh and had the tell tale "fishy" smell of fish on it's last days before it needs to be dumped. I could smell this through the non existent seasoning. My wife found it deeply unpleasant and I refused to taste it upon smelling powerful odour of 'fish going off'. Which is a shame, as I love fish and steak. Deeply upsetting meal, basic food prep skills, seasoning and sauce prep not done. Out of date fish and cheap meat. All of this can be yours for the grand total of $80.
